We fought long, we fought hard, we did everything we possibly could – but we just fell short. I called Dr. Stucky to congratulate him on a hard fought, but fair campaign that spoke about the big ideas that matter to us all – funding public schools, expanding healthcare access, reducing property taxes – and our politics should be better for it.
We need to keep talking, keep walking, keep building our community so that our ties strengthen, so that we can all work together to create a Texas that welcomes all, and lets all achieve their dreams.
Thank you all so much – I will keep working to make this great community as good as it can be. I invite all of you to continue being with me on this journey: it’s never over.
